He noted that the circumstances and geopolitical situation have not changed since last year. Therefore, he emphasized the importance of properly managing potential security risks for the country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>&#171;The aggression continues, innocent civilians are being killed, and civil infrastructure is under attack &#8212; you know this very well. Therefore, in response to the ongoing war and the dramatic impact these actions have not only on Ukraine but also on Europe and our security, we are presenting this legislative proposal,&#187; Survilas said from the podium of the plenary hall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>He highlighted the main changes proposed in the amendments introduced by the government. The draft not only proposes extending the restrictions until May 2 of next year but also tightening the screening of Belarusian citizens crossing the Lithuanian border with a Schengen visa. Such individuals will undergo additional evaluation and screening for potential risks. This procedure is already in place for Russian citizens.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"G-col G-col-article C-article__body-fs-1\">\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>The legislative proposal also suggests specifying that the restrictive measure will apply to legal entities whose ultimate beneficiaries are Russian citizens, regardless of whether they have temporary or permanent residency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>The legislative proposal also aims to limit the right of legal entities to acquire real estate after assessing whether a Russian citizen is a beneficial owner of a specific legal entity in accordance with the Law on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>As in the previous decision, the amendments to the law provide restrictions on issuing visas to Russians and Belarusians. Exceptions are made for individuals who are family members of Lithuanian citizens or citizens of other European Union countries, as well as members of crews engaged in international transportation.
