Therefore, according to him, it is important to continue to properly manage potential risks to national security.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>&#171;The aggression continues, innocent civilians are dying, and civilian infrastructure is under attack &#8212; you know this very well. Therefore, in response to the ongoing war and the dramatic impact these actions have not only on Ukraine but also on Europe and our security, we are presenting this bill,&#187; said J. Survila from the podium of the plenary session of the Seimas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>He pointed out the main changes provided for in the amendments presented by the government. The draft proposes not only to extend the restrictions until May 2 of the following year but also to tighten the verification of Belarusian citizens crossing the Lithuanian border with a Schengen visa &#8212; such individuals will be additionally assessed and examined against potential risks. Currently, this procedure is already in place for Russian citizens.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"G-col G-col-article C-article__body-fs-1\">\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>The bill also proposes to specify that the restrictive measure will apply to legal entities whose beneficiaries are Russian citizens, regardless of whether they have temporary or permanent residence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>The bill is also aimed at restricting the right of legal entities to acquire real estate after assessing whether a Russian citizen is a beneficiary of a specific legal entity in accordance with the Law on Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"C-fragment C-fragment-html C-fragment-html--paragraph\">\n<p>Like the previous decision, the amendments to the law provide for restrictions on issuing visas to Russians and Belarusians. Exceptions are provided for individuals who are family members of Lithuanian citizens or citizens of other European Union countries (), members of crews engaged in international transport.
