He said that there are other candidates for this position, but Kaskhunas is the first.
«First of all, I intend to meet with him, ask him questions that concern me. The aspect of continuity of work in the ministry and the implementation of important work for Lithuania is particularly important, as well as his attitude towards the problems of possible corruption, which was mentioned. After making a decision, it would be pointless to mention other possible candidates,» the president noted.
Nauseda said that the Prime Minister did not suggest his candidate for this position.
«No, I didn’t suggest my candidate. It was the result of our joint conversation with the Prime Minister. An exchange of thoughts,» he noted.
When asked if he had any information about possible bribes to Ministry of Defense employees, as mentioned by Anushauskas, Nauseda said he does not want to talk about it now, as the information needs to be verified.
