The politician stated that he declined such a «roster move».

In turn, I. Shimonite wrote on her Facebook account that the resignation of Minister of Defense A. Anushauskas is not related to any sudden change in Lithuania’s national security situation or negative news about the ministry’s activities. According to her, it is connected to the expectation to accomplish «even more and faster» for this term.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Saeima Committee on National Security and Defense stated on Saturday that he is ready to take the seat of the Minister of Defense. According to his statement, he will do so if such an offer is made.
