«As predicted, on Friday, the air warmed up to over 10 degrees Celsius in parts of Lithuania. (…) In Pagėgiai, it reached +12.2°C. The previous record was set 5 years ago in Jurbarkas on February 16, 2019, when it was +10.7°C,» the statement said.
This is the first temperature record of the year.
According to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, 17 such records were set last year, 13 in 2022, and 6 in 2021.
According to experts, it will remain warm in some areas on February 17 as well.
