Тадаса was mourned in the St. Michael’s Cathedral, and the farewell ceremony was held at the Wall of Remembrance for Ukrainian soldiers. Military personnel, volunteers, and representatives of the Lithuanian community attended the event.

Tadas’s mother watched a live video stream of the ceremony, reported journalist Liliya Honcharuk, who was present there.

«The moment that impressed me the most and was probably the most painful was that his mother couldn’t come, and there was a woman who showed her the entire farewell ceremony via video call,» the journalist said.

The deceased volunteer from Lithuania is survived by his wife and two young children.

Tadas was 43 years old. He fought in Ukraine for more than three months and was part of an international legion, the journalist explained. Tadas’s fellow soldier described him as a brave man.

«He made decisions quickly, was courageous, and was a fan of the club «». He volunteered to go to the front lines, and as he explained, many Lithuanian football fans also defend Ukraine,» journalist Liliya Honcharuk conveyed.

After cremation in Kiev, Tadas’s ashes will be returned to Lithuania and buried there.
