Police have reported that on March 16th, after midnight at 00:25, officers stopped a 24-year-old foreigner driving a Toyota Prius. The man was working as a courier for Bolt. He presented the police with a driver’s license and a passport with an invalid visa.
Since he did not have any other documents granting him the right to stay legally in the EU, he was taken to the airport and handed over to border guards. The border guards confirmed that the Uzbekistani citizen was staying illegally in Lithuania.
On the evening of March 17th, at 17:30 on Pargales Street in the capital, the police stopped another Toyota car. It turned out that the 48-year-old foreigner driving it had been disqualified from driving for 6 months due to traffic violations. The man may face the confiscation of his car and a fine. The car was taken to a secured parking lot.
The Uzbekistani citizen claimed that he had already paid the previously imposed fine, but he insisted that he was unaware of his driving disqualification. The police also discovered that the driver’s residence permit had expired, so the man was handed over to the border guards.
