«I was solving the intermediate mathematics exam tasks at level B. The experts will have to assess how well these tasks align with the curriculum, but my expectations regarding the intermediate assessment were different. I understand very well the people who are now writing comments and letters to the ministry. Your call for objectivity will be heard», wrote G. Yakhtas on Facebook on Wednesday.
According to the Minister, the intermediate assessments are designed to evaluate students’ knowledge and their ability to apply it in non-standard tasks.
In his opinion, the criticized physics tasks, although with some nuances, have achieved these goals. However, according to the Minister, the intermediate mathematics tasks at level B raise significantly more questions.
«Questions arise not only about the alignment of the tasks with the curriculum, but also about the level of difficulty of the tasks and their relevance in practical life as a whole, which is what students who chose level B need», he said.
