Приблизят ли жаворонки весну?

Ornithologists have noted that birds have already arrived in Smiltene. There are many reports of larks being seen in Taurage and Kaunas district.

The classic harbingers of spring are considered to be: lark, lapwing, and starling. And there were reports from Kaunas that starlings had already started singing their songs.

Flocks of whooper swans were also observed and heard along the coast, so spring is already on the doorstep. Hundreds of geese have also arrived, which can be seen where there is food. Apparently, they are no longer planning to fly anywhere.

Lapwings were observed in Sventoji and the Nemunas Delta. And with each passing day, more and more birds will arrive, predict naturalists.
In ancient times, Lithuanians predicted the weather based on the Day of the Larks (February 24). It was believed that if the larks arrived before February 24, then it would be cold for a while. If the larks arrived after February 24, then the spring would be early and warm.

Will the ancient prediction hold true today? Let’s see!
